Who thinks the new XC90 looks... bland.
Not understatedly elegant, but just plain boring to look at.
It almost looks like a BMW the more I look at it.
I like the interior though, so there's that.

I think it looks Chinese which I consider to be worse than looking like a BMW or bland.

It's basically a Volvo 240 wagon for the modern age.

Needs a little bit more of this.

Reminds me of an Audi

I see a little bit of both in it.

My first thought too, but it is different.

It has the face of a concerned grandparent.

You're definitely not the only one.. Looks like Q7/X5/Cayenne/Touareg..

I literally see design cues from every crossover on the market.

I'm seeing more Nissan/Infiniti, but there's a hint of Audi in it for sure.

It's really a mish mosh of all crossovers..

"why you no doctah yet!" Not sure why the xc90 became an angry Asian parent but close enough.

Given the demographic, most people aren't looking for cutting edge design. Cutting edge design doesn't sell. Copy-cat designs do. Eg. Mazda 6 vs Ford Fusion.

So did the original when it came out. This just means that this will age well. The New Volvo XC90 - A car for the man who knows that the best version of Alice in Wonderland is the music video for Tom Petty's Don't Come Around Here No More.

Well, people have said it looks Chinese. I can dig it! 'You need to go doctah? When I your age, I was doctah.'

Too bad a 2006 design looks at least more handsome than the all-new Volvo.

Then, it is not bland... It is a blend!

Yes!

Especially bland since these came before it

Pretty disappointing, I think the old one looks better on the exterior, inside however it's a hugely different story.

I think all crossovers end up being a mish mosh of the others... time is a flat circle. They keep designing the same CUVs over and over again.

Yes, even 10% more of this would have sufficed. Even though I have a CUV (Ford Edge), I don't much go for the XC90 anyhow. More of a XC70 guy (which I also have).

Looks about what I'd expect a crossover to look like. It's not as if Volvo has ever had the "stand-out" aesthetics in their cars. They've always been quietly subdued but classy in their designs.
I'd say this fits Volvo's philosophy brilliantly. Not to mention how much better it looks than the outgoing XC90.
I think we'll all be more excited when see their offerings that would appeal more to use. And oh man, that fricken interior...

I think it is understated, which is what people who buy Volvo's are looking for. It isn't flashy, because it isn't supposed to be.

As opposed to figuratively seeing them?
